Common questions
Where do I get Tempo?
Tempo is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. This page will link to it as soon as it is live.
Reminders don't arrive
Open Tempo, go to Settings and tap Block reminders. If it says Off, tap it to allow notifications. If iOS already said no once, Tempo opens the system Settings, where you turn on Allow Notifications for Tempo.
Also check your iPhone's Focus modes, and quiet hours in Tempo's settings. Reminders during quiet hours arrive silently.
Apple Health shows no data
Open the Health app, tap your profile, then Apps, then Tempo, and turn on the types you want: weight, steps, sleep and workouts. Apple doesn't tell apps what you chose, so Tempo can't show it for you.
Then open Tempo, go to Settings and tap Sync now. It reads the last 30 days and says what changed.
The assistant says it's being rate limited
New OpenAI accounts on the free tier only allow a few requests a minute. Wait a minute and try again, or add credit at platform.openai.com to raise the limit. Tempo retries short limits for you.
How do I move my data to a new iPhone?
An iCloud or computer backup of your iPhone includes Tempo. You can also go to Settings, Backup, Export backup, save the file, and use Import backup on the new phone. Your OpenAI key is never in the file, so add it again.
The rest timer stopped when I left the workout
It keeps going. Look for the rest pill above the tab bar on any screen; tap it to go back. The workout player can be minimised the same way. Your phone buzzes when the rest is over, even when it's locked, as long as notifications are allowed.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings and tap Clear all data, or delete the app. Because nothing is stored on a server, that removes everything, apart from copies in your own backups or your OpenAI account.
Can I turn Sol off?
Yes. Settings, Personalization, Sol. The cards and the avatar switch to a plain icon. Turning on Reduce Motion in your iPhone's accessibility settings stops Sol's animations.
Does the assistant cost money?
Tempo is free. The assistant runs on your own OpenAI API key, so OpenAI bills you directly for what you use. Most chats and Sol's daily lines cost a fraction of a cent. You can use Tempo fully without it.
