Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Tempo. By using the app you agree to them. If you downloaded Tempo from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two differ, these terms add to it rather than replace it.
What Tempo is
Tempo is a personal planner. It helps you plan your day, log habits and workouts, and keep track of your own numbers. It is a tool for organising your time. It is not a medical device and it does not give medical, health, fitness, nutrition or professional advice.
Health and fitness
- Workouts, weights, rest times, calorie and step estimates, estimated one-rep maxes and any suggestion to change a weight are general information worked out from what you entered. They are not advice for your body or your situation.
- Talk to a doctor or a qualified professional before you start a new exercise programme, change your diet, or if you have any health condition, injury or pain.
- Stop exercising and get help if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or anything unusual.
- You decide what you do. Use your own judgement and train within your limits.
- Distance, pace, elevation and calorie figures for outdoor activities are estimates from your phone's location and can be inaccurate. Don't rely on them for safety or navigation.
The AI assistant and Sol
- The assistant and Sol's written suggestions use OpenAI with your own API key. OpenAI's terms apply to that use, and you are responsible for your OpenAI account, including any charges.
- AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important. Don't use them as medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
- Anything the assistant changes in your plan is shown to you first and only happens when you approve it. You are responsible for what you approve.
- Keep your API key private. Tempo stores it only on your phone and leaves it out of backups.
Reminders and alerts
Reminders and timer alerts depend on your phone's settings, notification permissions, battery and the operating system. They can be late or not arrive. Don't rely on Tempo for anything where a missed alert could cause harm, such as taking medication on time.
Your data
Your data stays on your phone, as described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for keeping your own backups. We can't recover data that was deleted or lost with your device, because we never have a copy.
Acceptable use
Use Tempo lawfully and only for your own planning. Don't try to break, reverse engineer or misuse the app, or use it to harm others.
No warranty
Tempo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any injury, loss of data, missed event or cost (including OpenAI charges) that comes from using or not being able to use Tempo. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
Third-party services
Maps come from OpenFreeMap using OpenStreetMap data. The assistant uses OpenAI. Apple Health and Health Connect belong to Apple and Google. Each is governed by its own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Open-source software
Tempo includes open-source software and fonts. Their licences are listed in the app under Settings › About › Open-source licences.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will appear in the app with a new effective date. If you keep using Tempo after that, the new terms apply.
